LEJ is operated as a joint venture between GS Yuasa Corporation, MC and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. It was the first company in the world to mass produce large-capacity lithium-ion batteries, which it supplies to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and other automakers in Japan and around the world. In addition to their use in the automotive sector, LEJ's batteries have other industrial applications, including power storage.
